The guiding principle for Nordic Arctic Programme is resilience, and strong civil communities in the Arctic. It takes resilience to maintain and secure citizens, stability, growth, and prosperity in the Arctic.
Nordic Arctic Programme is oriented toward individuals as well as organizations, and it supports locally rooted co-operation in the Nordic and the Arctic.
Objectives
The purpose of this program is to contribute to the Vision of the Nordic Council of Ministers.
The vision is to be the most sustainable and integrated region in 2030.
Nordic Arctic Programmes main goal is:
Nordic and Arctic collaborations
To secure that a project is well anchored both in the Arctic and in the Nordic, projects must include partners from at least three Nordic countries (Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Faroe Islands, or Åland). This may be supplemented by participants from one or more non-Nordic countries, e.g. the USA or Canada, as long as the leading partner is from one of the Nordic countries.
